Tea light card

*******

Today I will show you how to make a new kind of tea light card. This is a great gift card, and I hope many will give it a try.

Jeg begynner med esken til telysene.
Kartong: 20cm / 22cm.
På langsiden preger jeg ved 8cm, 10cm, 18cm og 20cm.

*******

I start by making the box for the tea lights.
Cardstock: 20cm / 22cm
On the longest side I score by 8cm, 10cm, 18cm and 20cm.

På kortsiden preger jeg ved 2cm, 4cm, 16cm, 18cm

*******

On the short side I score by 2cm, 4cm, 16cm and 18cm.

Klipp vekk hjørnene som på bildet.

*******

Cut of the corners like you see on the picture.

Skråklipp hjørnene på klaffene./Cut of the corners on the flips.

*******

Now I put the box on hold, and start to make the cover.
Cardstock: 24,3cm / 15cm.
Score 11cm in from both sides, and use an edge punch like you see in the picture.

Now I distress all the edges.

*******

I choose a patterned paper, and decorate the parts of the box that is going to show.

*******

It is time to make the window. I use a Spellbinder dies as a template, and draw the shape on the back of the box.

*******

The window I cut out by hand with a good sissor, and distress the edges.

*******

Now I make a tag, and a pocket for the tag to have inside the card.
Tag: 13,5cm / 8cm. I use the same Spellbinder dies to shape the top of the tag.

The pocket: 9,5cm / 9,5cm. This is before I use the edge punch.
I decorate with the same patterned paper as I used on the box, and I distress all the edges.

*******

Here is the back of the pocket, all ready to be fastened inside the card.

*******

I use a matching paper, and decorate the inside of the card.
On the picture you can see I have closed the box, fastened a ribbon underneath it, and fastened it inside the card.

Her ser du mitt ferdige kort.

*******

What`s left now is to decorate the tag and the front of the card. I use a ribbon around the card to close it.
Here is my card all finished.

*******

And here is another tea light card I have made.

*******
I hope my tutorial inspired you, and that you want to give it a try:)

Thank you so much for the instructions - such a beautiful card! :) As I've never really done cards like this (with scrapping method), could you please clarify the part where you "distress the edges"? How do you do that? That was the only part I didn't understand.

Thank you so much in advance and have a wonderful weekend!

  80. Hei!
