The definition of Art Journal is hard get down in written, especially since there's no rules and no definition on have it should be! And, hey...THAT'S THE GREAT THING ABOUT IT! Right?!
Your Art Journal should be a book about you, about whats important for you or about dreams, visions, quotes, what you think is fun and so on or just a book where you play with techniques, colors and writings. Or nothings of above! YOU set the rules, and no one can say that an Art Journal page is bad, good or something else for that matter! It's your book!! It's your ART! And, the only thing that I feel is important...
HAVE FUN WITH IT!
You do not have to have meaningful pages each time, or only fun pages! I have made pages that's important to me, and I have made pages that's just for fun. I just have to have my crazy thoughts out :-)
Her ser dere mine sider sammen med resten av ARTsy teamets...
Connie

This page is put together with the tissue paper from Tim Holtz, multi-medium from Claudine Hellmuth, ColorWash and the new sprays from Dylutions. Body is a stamp from Dylutions, and it's colored with Letraset Aqua colors, and the head is from a magazine :-)

This page is made with mainly Gesso with a little bit of ColorWash for the edges. Connie wrote this quote on my page by hand. The flowers is colored with Letraset Aqua colors and water.
BellaMio

On BellaMios first Art Journal page, she have glued bookpages on to her pages before applying colors with misters. She has been playing with stamps and letters in different sizes and styles to give a playful impression. Text on the left side is printed from a computer and given color with a mister.

BellaMio has first of all used Gesso to cover up the background, and after that applied acrylic paint in different colors. She has stamped on bokpages and glued them to her pages, additional to stamping direct on the pages.
Mikaela

Mikaela has used acrylic paint on the background, additional to this she has also stamped with acrylicpaints. Face and text is handwriten.

One theme, two pages! Mikaela use an ordinary book for her Art Journal, and she glues two or three page togehter for each page she makes. She have used Gesso to cover up the book page. Her book is original called "Folkehatet" witch means something like "hatred of the people", and she has taken this word and made an AJ-page. She has painted the pages with acrylic paints and stamped with a permanent ink pad. The lady is from a collage sheet.
Hanne - Limogglitter

Hanne made a colorful and fun page, where she has used Distress Stain and water to make the background. The motives are cut-outs from different places and scrapbook paper, as well as the text.

Inger

The background is made with Gesso and Distress ink, additional to stamps, stencils, cut-outs and hand written text.
