Dags för ytterligare en utmaning med återvinning. Fast ärligt talat är det alltid sådan tid för mig eftersom återvinning ingår i stort sett i allting jag skapar. För denna utmaning valde jag frukt-, och grönsaksnät. Jag hade både gröna, röda och gula att välja på, två olika sorters nät. En med glesa maskor och en lite tätare.
Time again for some recycling. To be honest, it's always that time for me!
For the challenge this time I chose fruit/vegetable netting. I had several colours, green, red and yellow and different kind of netting too.
Jag valde att göra ett uppslag i min altered book. Textur är något jag gillar skarpt men jag brukar försöka hålla min altered book ganska platt för att inte skada ryggen. Till det är nät perfekt, det ger textur utan att det bli tjockt. Grundade med gesso och tryckte fast de tå olika näten i ett tjockt lager av gel medium. Målade med gesso igen och sedan med olika akrylfärger. Avslutade med pearlescent medium för att få lite skimmer.
This is what I did.
First I chose to do something in my altered book. I really do like structure but I keep my altered book quite flat since I don't want to put too much strain to the spine. For that matter, netting is perfect, giving you structure without being too bulky. I started with coating the spread with gesso and when dry I put on a heavy coat of gel medium and pushed the two different netting into it. When dry I painted it with several colours of acrylic paint and finished off with pearlescent medium. I chose to try some of my new golden colours and I love them. Need I say I need more? :-)
Torrborstade för att få fram texturen bättre. Jag ville hålla det enkelt så att bakgrunden skulle synas. Här har jag använt ett citat. Jag har sparat på citat så länge jag kan minnas och detta är ett ypperligt sätt att använda dem på.
Dry brushed to highight the structure. I wanted to keep the spread
simple without layers so the background really would show. I love my
qotes, I kind of collect quotes and sayings and have done so for as long
as I can remember. This is a perfect way of "using" them.
It says -
remember how far you have come, not just how far you have to go. You are
not where you want to be but neither are you where you used to be.
Jag behövde ett bokmärke.
Så jag gjorde ett. :-)
Till denna bakgrund använde jag de två näten på varandra. Klär alltid in baksidan för att få den ren och snygg och det tillsammans med 3D löven gjorde bokmärket ganska tjockt så jag vet inte om de passar så bra som bokmärke. Då får jag väl återanvända det till något annat! Många lager akrylfärg och torrborstning.
I needed a book mark.
So I made one. :-)
For this background I used the two netting on top of eachother. Cardstock on the back to make a nice backing and leaves made it bulky though so I'm not sure it would make a good book mark.
Lots of dry brushing with acrylic paint.
Mitt sista alster blev ett kort. Här använde jag endast en typ av nät för jag gillad de öppna ytorna. Ånyo målade jag med akrylfärg i olika lager. Använde bandage, grungeboard, boksida, skelettlöv, fantasy fiber samt ett märke från en gammal bh. Jo, jag sparar på alla möjliga konstiga saker!
My last take was a card. I kept it simple to show the background. For this card I chose to use only one of the netting. I like the "open" area. Again, painted with acrylic paint and highlighted some. Used dyed bandage, grungeboard, old book page, skeleton leaf, fantasy fiber and a piece from and old bra! Yes, I do keep lots of stuff!
