Noen forandringer i Design Teamet.... ~ Some changes in the Design Team...

Vi har noen forandringer i Design Teamet på nyåret.

Lillemor har måtte takke for seg, noe vi syns er veldig leit.

Lillemor har vært med oss fra dag 1, og lagt ned mye arbeid, inspirasjon og motivasjon i teamet vårt.

Vi kommer til å savne Lillemor mye, både som kortlager og hennes varme personlighet i teamet.

Lillemor skal delta på en DT artikkel til i februar, og det vil bli hennes siste DT oppdrag hos oss.

There are some changes on our Design Team in the beginning of this year.

Lillemor has told us she needs to step down from the design team, and we are so sorry to see her go.

Lillemor has been with us from day 1, and put so much effort, inspiration and 

motivation in to our team.

We will miss Lillemor both as an artist on the team and her warm personality.

Lillemor is attending one more DT article in February, and that will be her last work with us.

Vi har brukt Januar til å lete etter nye DT medlemmer og bestemte oss for å ta inn 2 nye.

En DT jobb i StampARTic er krevende med mye arbeid, så vi trenger et team bestående av 10 medlemmer.

Vi har vært på en liten spaningstokt, og fant frem til 2 jenter, som vi alle kjente godt til fra før... og til vår store glede og ære, takket ja til vår invitasjon, og det helt uten å nøle! =)

We have used January to seek new DT members, and decided to add 2 more members.

A DT job in StampARTic is highly demanding work, and we need a team of 10 to make it easier.

We have been out seeking, and found 2 wonderful girls, that we all knew from before... and to our great happiness they both accepted our invite, they didn't even hesitate to say yes! =)

Ulrica Hållèn

Jag är 38 år ( 1972 ) och bor i Mellansverige med
sambo Micke och våra två barn, Denise -91 och Thomas -96
samt två katter, Flingan och Signe.

Jag jobbar som telefonist och frilansar även som fotograf på fritiden. Fotografi och kortmakeri är mina stora passioner förutom familjen förstås. Jag har ingen speciell stil när jag skapar, utan hämtar inspiration och detaljer ifrån många olika stilar. Ibland är det enkla, stilrena kort som gäller, ibland vintage och ibland gulliga kort med stämplar och jag gillar dem alla! Jag provar alltid nya tekniker och är en riktig prylgalning :)

Jag åker gärna på pysselträffar runtom i Sverige och anordnar även egna tillsammans med två kära väninnor.

I'm 38 years old ( 1972 ) and live in the middle of Sweden with my dear Micke, and our two children, Denise -91 and Thomas -96 and with us also lives our two cats Flingan and Signe. I work at a call center and do some freelance-jobs as a photographer in my spare time. Photography and card making is my biggest passions beside my family of course. I have no special style when I'm creating, I pick up inspiration and details from many different styles. Sometime it's simple and stylish cards that I do, sometimes vintage and sometimes cute cards with stamps and I like them all! I always tries new techniques and is a real collector of scrapbook material :)

I love to go on scrapbook events around in Sweden and I also arrange

scrapbook gatherings along with two dear friends.

Olen 34-vuotias askartelun harrastaja ja asun mieheni ja kahden koirani kanssa. Pidän koirista paljon ja ne ovat suuri intohimoni askartelun lisäksi.Olen askarrellut kortteja yli kymmenen vuoden ajan. Pidän kaikenlaisista kädentöistä ja korttien teon lisäksi skräppään. Korttiaskartelussa pidän erityisesti vintage- ja leimatuista korteista, mutta kokeilen mielelläni myös muita tyylejä. Tällä hetkellä minua kiinnostaa värien yhdisteleminen ja itseni haastamisesta erilaisien tunnelmien luomisessa.

I'm 34 year old and live with my husband and my two dogs. I'm a big fan of dogs as well crafting. I've been making cards over 10 years and also scrapbook pages and other crafting. I like to try out new crafting types and challenge myself with them. My favorite styles are in card making stamped and vintage cards. I like playing with colors and create different kind of cards with them.

My dream come true last fall when I got my own scrap room and I've been so happy about since.

Ny månad och nytt shoppingtip, denna gång på temat "Cheap crafting".
Som vi har i magazinet hela månaden.

Så här kommer några billiga tips vi hittat.

Men allra först måste vi nog tipsa om alla reor som är runt om just nu.
Där kan man fynda mycket till en lägre kostnad än vanligt. Och sånt gillar vi juh!
Så efter detta, ut och leta rea.

So here comes some cheap tips we found.

But first we have to tip about all the sales around us right now.
There you can get a lot for less than to the normal price. And that we like!
So after this, go ahead and search some sales.

Hennes tips denna månaden är billiga clearstamps från Autumn Leaves- Rhonna Farrer.
Clearstamps är utmärkta att dekorera vilket projekt som helst och dessa singel clearstamps från Autumn Leaves kan man köpa för runt $1 nu. Så de är ett billigt men bra bra sätt att piffa upp dina kort med.
Du kan stämpla direkt på kortet eller stämpla på cardstock, färglägga dem, klippa ut dem och sätta dem på kort tillsammans med andra dekorationer. På 7 Kids College Fund hittar man dessa för $0,85.

Her tip this month are cheap clearstamps from Autumn Leaves- Rhonna Farrer.
Single clear stamps are great to embellish any projects with, and these single clear stamps from Rhonna Farrer you can buy for $1 now, so it will be a cheap but great touch to your cards. You can stamp directly on the card, or stamp on card stock, color them in, and cut them out using scissors and put them on a card along with other embellishments. At 7 Kids College Fund you can by these for $0,85.

Först ut är pärlspröt. Fina att sätta på dina kort eller alter tex ihop med blommor.

Have found 2 cheap and beautiful things.
First are Pearl spray stems. Nice to put on your cards och alter for ex together with flowers.

Det andra tipset är 50 st Pärl band hållare för £ 1,70 också från Wild Orchid Craft

Carola:
Shoppade i Lahtis och hittade billigt akvarell papper i en bokhandel.
Bra pappers kvalité 12 ark 300 gr A4 akvarell papper för 4€ som normalt kostar ca 7€ .

Was shopping in Lahtis and found cheap aquarelle paper in a bookstore.
12 sheets 300gr A4 good quality aquarelle paper cost 4€ normal price are about 7€.
Hon hittade också lite smått och gott i diverse butiker.
Pärlor som kostade 2€ som man kan plocka isär och använda för sig eller tillsammans.
Pärlorna kan man bla då göra pärlnålar av.
Julträ figurerna kostade 1€ o de kan man måla med akrylfärg eller krackeleringsfärg och använda både på kort och till gåvor.
Den stora stjärnan kostade mest, 2,30€. Men det blir ju ganska många dekorationer av den och så får man både dekorationer och öglor...

She also found some small goodies.

The pearls costed 2€ and you can use them both as they are and also take them apart. For ex make some decoration pins with the pearls.
The wood Christmas figures cost 1€. One can paint them with acrylic paint or crackle paint, stamp on them to use them in cards or on gifts.
The big star cost the most, 2,30€. But there are a lot of decoration for that price. And both decoration and loops.

Petra:
Hennes tips är ett kit att göra dina egna clearstamps! Den är inte så billig att införskaffa, MEN
...det blir ju billigare i längden att göra sina egna stämplar istället för att köpa nya.
Kittet inkluderar detaljerade instruktioner och material till att göra ca 100 clearstamps.
Gör dina egna stämplar av vilket bild, foto och eller text du vill - Hemma!!!
Man hittar den bla hos svenska Scrapbook etc (de sänder också utomlands) eller hos finska Heinikka.

Her tip is a kit, where you can make your own clearstamps! Its not so cheap to buy, BUT..It will became cheaper to make your own stamps instead of buying new once!!
The kit includes detailed instructions and material to make about 100 clearstamps.
Make your own stamps with any picture, text and photo you like -at home!!!

You can, for example, buy it from the swedish shop: Scrapbook etc (they also send to other countrys) or in Finland from Heinikka.

De här fina har Charlotte hittat.

Ja här kommer till sist mitt tips. Om än lite galet...
Massor av bling stenar för bara 14,50 kr!!

Hittade dem i en butik och tog med dem till kassan och ser att det eg är dekorationer till brösten(!!?)...
Hm ja de går nog att använda till kort också, så jag köpte 3 förpackningar(!!)
Undra vad hon i kassan tänkte... *lol*
Det är två i varje förpackning och det går ju att använda dem både som de är och skära loss både enstaka och tex cirklarna.
Jag hittade dessa i en av klädkjedjan Lindex´s butiker.

Well and final here comes my tip. A bit crazy but...
Lots of rhinestones for only 14,50 swedish kr!!

I found them in a store and walked to the counter to pay and then I see that they really are nipple decor(!!?)..
Well I guess they work on cards too, so I bought 3 packages(!!)
Wonder what the cashier thought..*lol*
There are 2 in each package and they can be used as they are or take them a part for ex only use the circles.
Found them in one of Lindex clothes shops.

2nd challenge - ATC card

Det är dags för den andra utmaningen i Januari. Denna gång vill vi att ni gör fyra stycken Artist Trading Cards (ATC) och med temat billigt. Det ända som är fast är ju kortets storlek annars är det fritt fram med att vara kreativa.

Inte var vi många i teamet som hade gjort dessa små kort tidigare.Vad är då ATC kort undrar säkert många.

Kortena är minikort i storleken 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch eller 64 x 89 mm. Alla kortena är oftast handgjorda små konstverk och meningen är att man byter kortena med andra kanske på möten eller så finns det speciella forum där man hittar kort att byta. Det är inte heller fråga om pengar för meningen är att alla kort är kostnadsfria.

Det första ATC kortena kom till 1997 då den sveitsiska konstnären m. vänçi stirnemann hade en utställning i Zurich. Han gjorde till en utställning 1 200 kort. Man kunde ta ett av hans kort men man måste samtidigt laga tillbaka ett kort som man sjäv gjort. Han kunde troligen inte ana vilken ny trend han satte igång. Många är dom ATC kortena som har bytits och många kommer det i framtiden att bli.


It's time for the second challenge in January. This time we wants you to make four Artist Trading Cards (ATC) with the theme cheap crafting. The only thing that is closed is the cards size but you are free to be creativ.

Not many of the team members had made these small cards before. Perhaps there is a reason to tell something about these cards.

They are miniature works of art created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch or 64 X 89 mm card stock. They are originals, small editions and, most importantly, self-produced. Anybody can produce them.The idea is that you trade them with other people who produce cards, either at trading sessions or wherever you meet another ATC trader in person. It is important that you meet other people in person to trade - i.e. it is ok to trade by mail or to participate in editions but the main purpose of this performance is the trading session and the personal meeting. It's not about money: participants in trading sessions and editions should not be charged any money: the point of the project is the exchange of cards as well as personal experience.

The project was initiated in 1997 by zurich artist m.vänçi stirnemann. Stirnemann made 1 200 cards to the exhibiton. The people who attended the show where told that if they wanted to aquire a card that was on display they should bring in one of their own creation to trade for it. A movement was then borne and since then several hundred people from all over the world have traded ATCs during trading sessions or through mail.

On aika kuukauden toiseen haasteeseen. Tällä kertaa toivomme teidän tekevän neljä ATC korttia. Ainoastaan kortin koko on määrätty muuten olette vapaita luovaan toimintaan.

Tiimimme jäsenistä monikaan ei ollut aikaisemmin tehnyt näitä pieni taideteoksia. On siis varmast hyvä kerrata mistä tässä oikein on kyse.

ATC kortit ovat pieniä miniatyri teoksia, joiden koko on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch or 64 X 89 mm. Kortit ovat itse tehtyjä ja valmiit kortit vaihdetaan toisten kortin tekijöiden kanssa. Kortteja voi vaihdella netissä mutta pääasiallinen tarkoitus on aina tavata henkilökohtaisesti tätä varten erikseen järjestettävissä tapahtumissa. Suomessa vaihdosta sopiminen kyllä useimmiten taitaa tapahtua netin kautta. Rahalle ei ole tässä kortteilussa merkitystä vaan nämä pienet taideteokeset vaihdetaan ilmaiseksi toiseen korttiin.

Ensimmäiset ATC kortit näkivät päivänsä vuonna 1997 kun taiteilija m.vänçi stirnemann Zurihistä piti näyttelyn. Stirneman teki 1 200 korttia näyttelyyn ja näyttelyn kävijöille kerrottiin, että näytillä olevat kortit oli mahdollista vaihtaa kunhan tilalle toi oman korttinsa. Jeg fikk et spørsmål om hvordan jeg distresser (elder) kantene på mine kort,
noe jeg gjør veldig ofte.
Her har jeg prøvd å forklare hvordan:

I got a question on how I distress the edges on my cards, something I almost always do.

I have tried to explain how:

Du trenger ~ You need:

Motiv ~ Image
Distress Ink (Tea Dye)
Svamp ~ Sponge (here: Inkssentials blending tool)
Kantskrape ~ edge distresser
Fluid Chalk cat eye -dark brown.

Få et godt tak så blir det enklere å kontrollere og mindre sjangse for uønskede blekk striper.

Get a good grip, makes it easier to control and to avoid unwanted ink marks.

Start et stykke utenfor papiret, og jobb deg inn på papiret i sirkel bevegelser.

Start outside the card stock and work your way on to the card stock, using circular movements.

Jeg holder alltid svampen i en vinkel, slik at ikke hele svampen kommer ned på papiret.

I always hold the sponge in an angel, so it doesn't touch the card stock with the whole sponge.

Her er motivet ferdig distresset med distress ink, og jeg stopper veldig ofte her.
Men av og til, så liker jeg å gjøre mer ut av distressingen.

Here the image is done distressed using distress ink, and I very often stop here.

But sometimes I like to make some more out of the distressing.

Jeg bruker først kant skrapen, jeg har Heidi Swap sin skrape. Det finens mange på markedet og noen bruker faktisk saks også.

I now grab my edge distresser, and I have Heidi Swaps edge distresser. There are many different edge distressers out there, and some even use a pair of scissors.

Og til slutt går jeg over kantene med Fluid Chalk Cat eye puten min, og her er det viktig med vinkelen du holder puten i. Jeg bruker den rett på slik som vist her, tipper du puten for mye over på motivet så syns jeg det blir for mye av denne mørke fargen.

And finally I go around the image using Fluid Chalk Cat Eye ink pad, and now it is important you use the angel I am doing in the picture. Hold the pad straight on the card stock, if you tilt it on to the card stock, it will be too much of the dark color on the image.

Og siden det er januar og vi prøver å spare litt i StampARTic, har jeg bare brukt restekassen min til dette kortet. Bare blomster og perler er nytt.

And since it is Cheap Crafting January here at StampARTic I have used my scraps and left over papers on this card. Only the flowers and pearls are new.

Homemade decorations

Our theme for the January is "make it cheap" and I made some decorations from my left over paper pieces and with some other small things I found from my crafting desk. I have so much those little scraps and strips of papers and I believe there is many of you who has the same situation. Some days ago I organized my paper stach by colour to plastic bags and hopefully now I can use them more in the new projects. Here is some ideas to give you inspiration.

I have used cirkle and heart punces to make some small decorations.

Here is couple of cards where I used those narrow stripes I have plenty of. I combined different colours and patterns to have colourful backgrounds.

For the pink card I used small cirkle punch to create the background. Punced also some little flowers and added liquid pearl to the center.

Then I tried different kinds of flowers. Two on the top are made from paper strips shown on the bottom of this posting. Three pink ones are made from felt. Added some small pieces of tulle, glitter glue, buttons and pearls. I used promarkers to do some shades on to the felt.

Here is the close picture how the felt flowers are done. Just cut the petals and then put them together with needle and thread. You can do it also with glue but it is more messy.

For the paper flowers I have used narrow paper strip. First I wrinkled the strip so it will be easier to put around the bottom cirkle. I added some ink to the edges to get depth.

Then I added some glue to the paper cirkle and started to adhere the strip around the cirkle.

I made the first round with one strip and after that added another strip on the first one getting to the center.

After strips are adhered it is time to do the center. I took a little piece of tulle and added some ink to the edges. Added also some golden ink to the outer edges of the flower.

On the tulle I glued some dark brown pearls and added some glitter glue to the petals.

Here is the card I made with the flower. If you do a big one it can be used as the main decoration but you can do also smaller ones to give the extra touch to your cards. There is so many ways you can do decorations by yourself and it is so much fun also. Hopefully you got some ideas from my trials.
