Mariusz Gierszewski - Guestdesigner for January

This month, we have got Mariusz Gierszewski, one of the Prima Marketing Educators,  from Poland as a guest designer.

When did you start scrapbooking and papercrafting?
My adventure with scrapbookingiem I started a little more than 2 years ago. In August 2012, when I made my first card.

How important is crafting in your life today?
Today for me is more than just a hobby. I spend every free times on creating new projects. Now as Prima Marketing Educator I have a lot of traveling and I give workshops in different countries in Europe.

Do you do any other crafts than papercrafting?
No. I work only with paper.

What kind of papercrafts and techniques do you enjoy?
I like working with gesso when I create shabby chic projects. Gesso adds delicacy and soft appearance to the work. In my vintage projects, I always work with Disters Inc- Vintage Photo. It’s the best color in the world, in my opinion.

What kind of products do you use at the moment?
As I mentioned earlier I’m Prima Marketing Educator and and am trying to work with their products, as much as possible. They have awesome papers, medias, stamps, stencils and my favorite product- flowers. I really like chip boards from Scrapiniec. They offer great designs at a good price. I do also appreciate the fact that company performs individual designs for the customers. It’s a huge plus.

We all need inspiration from time to time, who or what inspire you?
The one who inspires me most, is my friend Karola Witczak. She is incredible, and always make awesome projects. Her style is very close to me. On second place is Karolina Czajkowska and her mixed-media LO’s, cards and altered art projects. I visit their blogs whenever I lack ideas.

How do you get from an idea to a finished artwork?

Always when I start creating new project, I am looking for materials to work with and then I choose accessories that I would like to use. Checking that everything fits together in color etc. I spend a lot of time to create a composition. I like when everything creates a coherent whole

We would like to thank Mariusz for taking time for this interview,
